Frequently asked questions.
What is pool tile blasting?
Pool tile blasting is a cleaning method that uses a special media (like kieserite) to remove calcium buildup, hard water stains, and grime from your pool tiles without damaging the surface.
What is kieserite and why do you use it?
Kieserite is a natural mineral similar to Epsom salt. It's gentler than glass bead blasting, highly effective at removing calcium, and dissolves in water, making it safer for your pool and equipment. We prefer kieserite because it’s eco-friendly and leaves no gritty residue.
Is tile blasting safe for my pool?
Yes — when done professionally, tile blasting is completely safe for your tile, grout, and plaster. We carefully regulate the pressure and media to avoid any damage.
Can I swim the same day after tile blasting?
Yes. Because we use kieserite, which is water-soluble and non-toxic, your pool is typically safe to swim in the same day once the water is balanced and circulation is running.
Is your tile cleaning method eco-friendly?
Absolutely. Kieserite is a natural, biodegradable mineral that doesn’t harm plants, pets, or pool equipment. We also vacuum out leftover media and debris to prevent waste from entering your filtration system.
How long does tile blasting take?
Most jobs are completed within 2–3 hours, depending on pool size and buildup level.
Will you clean up the mess afterward?
Yes, we do a full cleanup. We vacuum out all blasting media and rinse down the area so your pool looks spotless.
How often should I have my pool tiles cleaned?
Typically every 1–2 years, depending on your water hardness and maintenance habits. Regular cleaning helps prevent permanent etching or discoloration.
Can you remove severe calcium buildup?
Yes. Kieserite is excellent at removing even thick white calcium lines and deposits, restoring your tiles to their original look.
Do you only clean the waterline tile?
We primarily focus on waterline tiles, but we also offer spillway cleaning, raised walls, fountains, and other water features if needed.
